The rug was created in dialogue with the work of Maria Jarema, particularly her exploration of movement, rhythm, and organic abstraction. The inspiration came from the fluidity of forms and the tension between figuration and painterly gesture, translated here into a textile medium. The composition treats tufting as a form of drawing in space – a trace of the hand’s movement transformed into a soft, material surface. Abstract shapes construct a field of energy in which color and form remain in constant flow.
